Wednesday/Thursday are considered 'early'. No special permission is needed to arrive on these days.

Dining centers will open on Thursday.

Hokie Helpers will be available Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to help unload vehicles.

Residence Hall Floor Meetings Refer to schedule posted by residence hall staff members in your building or check with your resident advisor directly.

All students should attend at least one of their floor meetings.
Fall 2013 Classes begin Monday, August 26, 2013

No classes-housing and dining operations will remain open.

Thanksgiving Break Residence halls close: Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

Halls re-open: Sunday, December 1, 2013 at noon.
Note: The football game against the University of Virginia is away.

Dining centers open on Sunday, December 1, 2013 for lunch.

Students must check out of their rooms within 24 hours after their last exam, but no later than noon, Friday, December 20, if they are not directly involved with the commencement ceremony.

Residence Halls Open Early Friday, January 17, 2014 at noon

Check-in for new/newly assigned residents will be from noon until 5:00 p.m.

New students, especially those who have needs for Hokie Passport and other university services, will be encouraged to use this day to move in, as those offices will be open.

Dining Services will be available starting Saturday, January 18 with the lunch meal.

Corps of Cadets students and resident advisors should follow directives from command staff and residence life supervisors about their specific schedules.

Students returning from the fall semester can arrive any time or day after Friday at noon; however, returning students are encouraged to wait until Saturday/Sunday to return.
Residence Halls Open Saturday, January 18, 2014
Noon to 5:00 p.m.

Check-in for newly assigned residents will continue at area offices. Most university offices are closed on this day.

No check-in scheduled for Sunday, January 19.
Martin Luther King Holiday Monday, January 20, 2014

No classes and most university offices closed.

If you are graduating or are directly involved with the Commencement activities or have an extenuating circumstance, complete the checkout form to request late checkout between 8 a.m. on November 1 and 2 p.m. on December 12.  If you are a resident of a 10-month building, please use the break registration form below.
